Program Description
The "Did You See That?!" program focuses on helping participants identify risky or potentially harmful situations, empowering them to assume personal responsibility to take action, and brainstorming and practicing indirect and direct ways to safely and positively intervene. The Takeaways
The primary focus of the "Did You See That?!" program is to:
- clearly identify potentially harmful or risky situations
- empowering participants to assume responsibility to take action
- brainstorm and practice indirect and direct ways to safely and positively intervene
Additionally, after this 75 to 90 minute program, participants will be able to:
- Define bystander, and discuss why bystander behavior exists
- Identify and describe the stages in the process of moving someone from inaction to taking a leadership role
- Differentiate between situations when immediate action is needed, and those that can be addressed at a later time
- Differentiate between situations where direct intervention is safe and necessary, and those where indirect action is more appropriate
- Define sexual assault, acquaintance rape, and consent
